My background
I grew up in the small town of Seneca Falls, NY, known as the birthplace of the women's rights movement. I am a first-generation college graduate. I graduated from Cornell University in 2013 with a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a B.S. in Animal Science. I then went on to Pennsylvania State University, where I completed both my M.S. in Ecology in 2015 and Ph.D. in Ecology in 2020.
In my free time...
I spend most of my free time with my husband, Chris, and our two pups, Carson (left) and Lexi (right).
Chris and I have just started our journey to build a sustainable homestead. We currently have a small flock of laying hens and an ever-growing garden. Our goal is to produce as much of our own food as possible on our half acre, and supplement as needed from local farms.
Off the homestead, we also enjoy kayaking, hiking, and traveling. One of our favorite places to visit is Chincoteague, Virginia - just look at these beautiful views!
